Who Are We?
Glanbrook Home Support Programme is a nonprofit charitable agency that provides supportive services and programs to Seniors (age 60 and older) and to Adults (age 18 and over) with disabilities to assist them to live safely and independently in their own homes and community of Glanbrook and Hamilton.
We assist individuals who are temporarily disabled because they are recovering from to surgery, broken bones, cancer treatments etc., and we provide assistance to individuals who have permanent disabilities such as mobility problems, heart condition, any medical condition that restricts their ability to cope with daily activities in order to live independently.
Objectives To provide help to seniors and adult individuals with disabilities herein after referred to as clients, to enable them to live independently in their homes for as long as possible.
* To provide interested individuals with a range of volunteer opportunities. * To encourage clients to be the key planners and decision makers in their lives. * To offer, promote and develop services and programs to address and meet newly emerging needs within the senior and disabled community such as health, safety, independence, socialization and community interaction. * To provide one stop shopping and/or direct clients, caregivers and individuals to other services in the community at large and to make appropriate referrals. * To work with other agencies and organizations who provide services for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Service Area
Glanbrook Home Support Programme Inc., was originally developed to assist the residents in the Township of Glanbrook and its services and programs were focused towards this rural community.
In 2001, the Township of Glanbrook, along with other communities, amalgamated with Hamilton to form the New City of Hamilton.
Glanbrook Home Support Programme Inc. continues to focus its Meals-on-Wheels and Transportation services to the residents in the former Township of Glanbrook. However, all other programs and services are available to residents of the New City of Hamilton. |
